USDA and Labor Department Collaborate on Work Opportunities

The Memorandum of Understanding signed by both secretaries indicates their efforts to help create sustainable employment opportunities in the U.S.

The U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Labor have partnered to help low-income workers find employment. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the departments’ partnership to help empower Americans to find more sustainable employment.

Secretary Rollins stated, “Connecting low-income Americans, including Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients, to education and employment opportunities is so important. This MOU signifies how our two agencies can further collaborate and use one another’s resources to not only help individuals attain career and technical education, but secure and retain employment.”

Secretary Chavez-DeRemer also stated that she was “honored to partner with Secretary Rollins on this effort to streamline pathways to the workforce for men and women in need of a hand-up – not a hand-out.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Rollins as she heads her department in collaborating with the Department of Labor for employment for SNAP recipients and others with low incomes.
  • For Secretary Chavez-DeRemer as her department seeks to connect Americans with stable job opportunities.
  • For God to work through this partnership to help U.S. residents who are in need find work.
